Our MD
Clive Edwards. Clive is semi-retired
journalist by profession, with many years sailing and
boating experience. He is a qualified yachtmaster, former
auxiliary coastguard and spent several years as a rescue
officer for the British Olympic Sailing Team. He has his own small
motor-cruiser which he keeps in the south of France where
it’s used on the Med., on the River Herault and on the
Canal du Midi, and he’ s actively involved with the
National Coastwatch Institution’s proposed new lookout
in Lyme Bay, Dorset. Boating in France is a
small organisation publishing its own waterways guides,
distributing the multi-language “Guide Fluvial” pilot
guides in the UK, and representing several French
boat-hire operators and barge holiday operators. Clive is now involved in voluntary work as Station Manager of a National Coastwatch Station on the Dorset coast, NCI Lyme Bay. He is also a member of the Merchant Navy Association Boat Club.
Boating in France Ltd is a member of the Inland Waterways International.
